We were given the task of combining a classic Disney film movie with a live action one. I chose the combination of the movie Bolt, about a dog who believes he is a real life superhero, and the Dark Knight, the second movie in the recent Batman trilogy. I titled the poster "The Bark Knight" a play on the title of the Batman movie and the fact that Bolt is a dog. After all students had created an original and creative idea, we put our Photoshop skills to the test, and created our posters. After creating a duplicate layer of the original poster (seen below) I began to use the clone-stamp to remove Batman and the bat logo on the building. The logo was especially difficult because I had to replace the windows that the logo had been covering. After everything was removed and I had a clean slate to work with, I began to add in the character Bolt and the lightning blot logo on the building. For the lightning bolt, I imported a picture of the bolt logo from the movie poster, and then using the clone stamp and the selection tool, I filled the inside of the logo with the flames from the original bat logo. I then used the blend tool to soften the edges and make it seem more natural against the building. I then added in Bolt, which was fairly easy. I selected him from another source, and then imported him into the poster. I used the paintbrush, selected the background color, and with a low opacity painted over Bolt until it appeared that he was standing in a blue fog, as Batman is in the original poster. After that, I simply cloned stamped out the original tagline: "Welcome to a world without rules", and replaced it with "Welcome to a world without leashes". I then turned the "D" in Dark Knight and changed it into a "B". I feel confident in the quality of my poster, as I think it integrates the Disney movie and the live-action movie well in a clever way.
